The horsehair for this anointing is cut from black-colored animals and has not been artificially dyed. Its color will remain original even after several years of regular use. The knot is tied by hand and has a high density.
Horse hair is intermediate between boar bristles and badger hair in terms of price, stiffness and moisture absorption. Even uncut horsehair tips are sharp, so Pharos-C3 Pure Black Horse is not recommended for men with sensitive skin due to some discomfort during use.
The 21 mm diameter knot perfectly whips up a dense lather in the bowl with hard and soft soaps, in the palm of your hand or on your face with cream. We recommend this brush for thoroughly preparing your skin for a classic wet shave. The pile of the anointing brush easily lifts even the finest hairs, as well as massaging the skin and cleansing it of keratinized particles.
Before shaving, dip the brush in very warm water for a few minutes. Horsehair absorbs moisture moderately and takes a little longer to dry than boar bristles. After rinsing the anointing brush, be sure to place it on a special stand to dry in a well-ventilated area. With careful handling, the brush will last for more than a year.
