The base of the perfume composition consists of fougere, citrus, spicy notes.
The German brand’s cologne is also available in a 300 ml volume.
4711 was created in Cologne by a Cartesian monk, originally as a remedy for ailments (including digestive ailments), but quickly became popular as a perfume. The name «4711» refers to the number of the house on Glockengasse, where the factory was located during the French occupation of Cologne. French troops numbered the houses for administrative purposes, and the number 4711 remained as a brand.
The fragrance is very fresh, cool and literally «sparkling». It is not long-lasting by modern standards (it lasts 1—2 hours), as it is rather a refreshing product than a perfume. But its freshness and lightness are its main advantages.
Features and Applications:
- Often used as a refresher, especially in the heat of the day
