Fougere Classique After Shave Splash is one of the earliest fragrances released by the Barrister and Mann. It takes inspiration from the renowned French men's cologne, Fougère Royale. This product contains alcohol and witch hazel extract, which serves to tone and sanitize the skin. It does not contain any harmful chemicals or petroleum byproducts.
Paul Parquet, author of Fougère Royale, the prototype of Fougere Classique, characterized the composition as «the smell of a fern, if God had given that a fragrance.»
The perfume composition includes the notes: lavender, oakmoss, coumarin, bergamot, ylang-ylang, benzoin, pelargonium, musk, vanilla, patchouli, jasmine, heliotrope and labdanum.
Splash can be used daily, as an aftershave with Fougere Classique soap or as a light perfume.
