The butterfly razor is made of high-quality zinc alloy and protected against corrosion by a GunMetal chrome finish. The same model is also available in light silver color — Rockwell R1 White Chrome. Laconic design, a tenacious handle surface with protruding ribs and a trouble-free mechanism without plastic parts — that’s why this inexpensive model is especially loved by users.
The R1 razor is virtually impossible to cut with its aggressiveness and is the mildest in the Rockwell collection. To change the blade, turn the handle at the bottom clockwise to open the butterfly flaps. Insert the double edge blade and turn the knob counterclockwise to close the flaps. That’s it: the razor is ready to use!
We recommend Rockwell blades and the R1 razor for men with sensitive skin, beginners, and for shaving medium-hard stubble. Each pack of R1 razors contains 5 interchangeable double edge blades. Derby Extra blades have shown similar results. For those who need more aggressiveness to shave very stiff stubble, we recommend trying this razor in combination with Parker blades.
The chrome plating can only be damaged by careless handling, such as dropping the razor on bathroom tiles. To avoid this, use special storage stands — the Parker Deluxe Chrome caddy fits the R1 razor. The head-up position with the flaps open allows the razor to dry faster and the blade to stay sharp longer.
