The R1 was developed in Toronto by Rockwell in 2017, and is made to special order in China. The material of the razor is zinc alloy, protected from corrosion by a chrome coating in White Chrome shade. In each package, in addition to the razor itself, there is a box of interchangeable double edge blades of the same brand (5 pcs.).
How to use the Rockwell R1 razor
- Turn the handle at the bottom clockwise to swing the butterfly mechanism flaps open.
- Gently slide the replacement blade inside, holding it by the side ends.
- Turn the handle at the bottom counterclockwise to close the butterfly flaps and start shaving.
The life of Rockwell replacement blades depends on the stiffness of the bristles. On average, according to the manufacturer’s tests, one blade lasts for 7 uses.
The R1 has the advantages of a straight cut, moderate aggressiveness, and the firm grip of a ribbed handle. This allows you to learn to shave without skin irritation, cuts or ingrown hairs. We also recommend this razor for men with sensitive skin and not too thick stubble.
For convenient and safe storage of the razor, use special razor stands, such as the Parker Deluxe Chrome safety razor caddy. Water that accidentally gets into the mechanism of the razor will easily drain downwards when stored in an upright, head-up position and will not accumulate inside.
