Horse hair for brushes is obtained by cutting and combing out the tail and mane of horses. The hair is natural brown, not dyed or bleached.
The hair used for the brush is elastic at the base and soft at the tips. They absorb and retain water well, keep warm. The dome of the shaving brush is lamp-shaped, convenient for whipping any soap , shaving cream.
In terms of softness, horsehair shaving brushes occupy a middle ground between badger and boar bristle brushes. Vintage Alter Brown is suitable for all skin types, except those with hypersensitive skin, for which it is recommended to use a badger or fiber brush.
The handle of the shaving brush is made of plastic. It has a streamlined shape, with a thin waist at the lower third, which makes it easy to hold the shaving brush with your fingers when whipping and lathering.
It is better to dry the shaving brush on a stand, head down.
