The aggressiveness of the razor is adjusted by changing the plates. There are three of them in the set. Each is double-sided and marked R1-R6. The markings are engraved and can be felt even in the dark. Depending on the plate installed, the gap size and aggressiveness varies:
- R1 is 0.20 mm;
- R2 is 0.35 mm;
- R3 is 0.48 mm;
- R4 is 0.61 mm;
- R5 is 0.69 mm;
- R6 is 0.79 mm.
R1/R2 is recommended for gentle shaving, for sensitive skin and fine hair. Suitable for beginners, for daily shaving. R3/R4 — for shaving three-day stubble of medium stiffness and thickness. R5/R6 — for a week’s growth, as well as thick, stiff and curly stubble.
The Rockwell 6C Gunmetal differs from the 2C razor in the number of plates, and from the 6S in weight and material: the 6S is stainless steel and the 6C is zinc alloy.
