The inside of the bowl is lacquered. The honeycomb-like orange peel insert at the bottom promotes the formation of air bubbles, which increase the volume of foam, and speeds up whipping. The top of the handle is also designed to force air inside the bowl.
The handle is made of ash wood, which has high strength and hardness. The upper part is made of elm, which is resistant to decay.
