The fitting system differs from most existing models: a special design ensures a perpendicular position of the head to the handle. This ensures precise shaving and symmetrical load distribution and prevents premature wear of the razor.
The top and bottom plates are wide in the plane of contact with the blade, and all parts are produced on the CNC razor to the smallest possible tolerances: just 0.02 mm, without micro-notches. This ensures that the blade is evenly positioned. The parts are also sandblasted and hand sanded to completely smooth the surface. Thanks to the alignment of the blade, the main cause of irritation — its vibration during shaving — is eliminated.
Unlike the Masamune razor, the Masamune Nodachi has a positive blade reach, with a 0.13 mm sharp edge that extends 0.13 mm forward from the shaving plane, so it is more effective. The razor handles more overgrown and stiff stubble. Since the closed comb is closed and the sides of the base plate are grooved, the razor glides smoothly over the skin and the risk of scratching is minimal. If the bristles are coarse and overgrown, a replacement plate with an open comb can be installed, increasing the aggressiveness and efficiency of the razor even further.
The Masamune Nodachi also differs from the Masamune razor in size: it is 14.3 mm longer and the handle diameter is 1.5 mm larger. Otherwise, the parts are completely interchangeable.
