Shisham wood, a Himalayan rain tree, is used for the hilt. The material is strong and durable, resistant to rot. The same model is also available in a light shade of rosewood. The blade holder is made of stainless steel, does not bend, durable and not subject to the appearance of corrosion. The blade is securely clamped by the holder, does not dangle and does not scratch the skin when shaving. If injury cannot be avoided, bleeding can be quickly treated with alunite.
Unlike a razor, a shavette razor does not need to be sharpened. A half-blade is inserted into the holder. An ordinary double edge, previously broken into 2 pieces lengthwise, will also work.
