Following the success of the top-of-the-line Rockwell 6Srazor, the manufacturer has created a version at a more affordable price. The differences that can be seen with the naked eye between the 6C and 6S are different weight and material. The Rockwell 6C is lighter and literally shines with gloss: while the 6S is chiseled from solid stainless steel, the lighter 6S is made of chrome-plated zinc alloy. The lower price is also due to the packaging: instead of a gift box like the 6S, the 6C is packaged in a simple cardboard box with a plastic spoon. Otherwise, there are no differences between the 6C and 6S models. Both are «closed comb» types, i.e. closed comb, and both have 6 aggressiveness modes.
The kit includes:
- cover;
- handle with a very grippy surface that does not slip out of your hands, even when wet and covered with foam;
- 3 interchangeable double edge plates;
- pack of double edge blades (5 pcs.).
The aggressiveness of the shaver is adjustable: three plates give six settings. Each of the three plates has both sides labeled with indices from R1 to R6. Simply select the appropriate side and assemble the razor. The index you need now should be visible on the outside of the assembled shaver.
The index indicates the gap between the cutting edge of the interchangeable double edge blade and the edge of the plate, in millimeters. The larger the value, the closer the shaver cuts the stubble to the skin surface.
- R1 is 0.20 mm;
- R2 is 0.35 mm;
- R3 is 0.48 mm;
- R4 is 0.61 mm;
- R5 is 0.69 mm;
- R6 is 0.79 mm.
The R1/R2 plate is suitable for sensitive skin and provides the most delicate shave. The R3/R4 plate is recommended for normal skin and for shaving two to three days' stubble. The R5/R6 plate is the most aggressive and is most suitable for shaving week or very stiff stubble.
The R1/R3 settings have the only other model plate, the Rockwell 2C. This is an even more budget-friendly option for those who don’t need that wide range of razor aggressiveness.
