The razor is made of stainless steel, and most of the handle (except for the tip and top ring) is made of wood from the exotic rosewood tree native to the Pacific coast, from Mexico to Panama. Cocobolo is a strong and hard wood with unusual coloring. The core of the wood can be a variety of shades — black, red, purple, in various combinations, with flecks of yellow and orange.
Cocobolo has a high density and natural oiliness that makes the handle resistant to moisture, drying out and easy to maintain. Over time, the wood becomes deeper in tone and its bright, contrasting grain makes each razor truly unique.
The decorative nature of the wood has put cocobolo at risk of extinction, so the extraction of the wood is very strictly controlled and restricted. However, it is not only the external aesthetics that provide the premium level, but also the natural durability and strength of this wood: the high oil content in the fibers provides natural protection against moisture and durability of cocobolo products. A razor with this handle will last for decades with normal care.
The aggressiveness of the razor is low, but it effectively shaves the stubble at the very base. This is achieved by a positive blade reach of 0.03 mm. The weight of the razor is about 70g, 33g of which is the weight of the head. The razor is balanced, suitable for both experienced and beginners.
