For additional protection against corrosion and premature loss of sharpness, the plates are composite coated with chrome and PTFE, which gives stainless steel new properties: resistance to the damaging effects of alkalis, organic compounds and other substances. Additionally, the coefficient of friction has been reduced. As a result, each blade lasts longer and your wet shave remains comfortable and flawless.
The blade feels a little greasy to the touch. This is due to the fact that the PTFE surface is not wetted by water at all, the moisture droplets simply roll off without any lubrication. The chrome coating on the cutting edge keeps the blade sharp for longer.
Shark Super Chrome blades are standard sized to fit the head dimensions of most T-shaped razors. Break the plate in half and you get two single edge blades for shavette razor refills.
