The brand is based on a simple idea: the sun is not an enemy, and being in the sun should feel comfortable for the skin. That is why Divja žena creates products that help protect the skin from ultraviolet radiation and support it while outdoors, at the seaside, in the mountains, or in the city.
Brand story
The story of Divja žena began not in a laboratory, but on the seashore.
The founder of the brand, Julia Kaja Hrovat, faced skin sensitivity when spending time in the sun — in the coastal regions of Slovenia, many people experience irritation and dermatitis when tanning and commonly call it «sun allergy». Like others, Julia Kaja looked for and tried one new product after another from shops and pharmacies, but they could not prevent the discomfort. A fashion designer by profession, she was used to working with materials and paying close attention to what comes into contact with the body. Not finding a suitable product in shops, she began to study natural ingredients herself and create skincare products for her own use.
The turning point came when she discovered traditional recipes based on beef tallow, which many generations had used in home skin care. The first balms were made for personal use, tested on the founder herself and her close ones, and from that experience the two products that became the foundation of the brand eventually grew.
Today, Divja žena remains a small family project. The brand is run by Julia herself, her mother, and her partner. Their approach can be summed up in one phrase: fewer ingredients, more purpose.
Why exactly «Wild Woman»?
The brand name translates from Slovenian as «Wild Woman». The Slovenian expression Divja žena is linked to local legends and the mythological figures of «krivopetnice» — women who live in harmony with nature. For the brand’s creators, it is a symbol of independence, freedom, and respect for a natural way of life.
So the brand name is not about opposing civilization, but rather about a love of nature, active leisure, and simple care without unnecessary complication.
Two products — one idea
The Divja žena range consists of two products that complement each other.
HEY SUN SPF 30 is a sun care product with a mineral filter based on non-nano zinc oxide. It is designed to protect the skin while spending time in the sun.
Divja žena Hey Sun SPF 30, 120mlWILD TAN is a nourishing balm without SPF for skin care before, during, and after the sunny season. It is used as an extra treatment to soften and support skin comfort throughout the year — not only after sun exposure, but also to protect against wind, frost, and the drying effect of indoor air conditioning.
Divja žena Wild Tan, 120mlBoth products share the same approach: simple water-free formulas, a small number of ingredients, and attention to how the skin feels when spending time in the sun.
Simple formulas and rich textures
The Divja žena products are based on beef tallow, plant oils, beeswax, and natural essential oils.
The absence of water means concentrated formulas with a dense texture and economical use. The products melt with the warmth of the skin, spread easily, and do not require much for one application.
This format is especially appealing to those who prefer rich balms and oils over light lotions and emulsions.
For those who spend a lot of time outdoors
Divja žena was created for people who love the sea, mountains, travel, long walks, and active time outdoors. It is a young brand with a very narrow focus and a clear idea: less excess, more attention to what is truly used every day.
Both products have a dry, slightly camphoraceous, natural scent of lavender essential oil — this is how the Slovenian coastal villages smell at the beginning of summer. It seems that this is how skin smells after tanning on the Adriatic, absorbing the aromas from the air.
The brand does not aim to launch dozens of products. Instead, it focuses on clear skin-care products for the sunny season — from protection while being in the sun to follow-up skin care.
