The Canadian brand launched in 2020 and instantly became a hit among wet shaving enthusiasts of both genders. The razor is made of anodized aluminum. This means that it is not painted and therefore will not chip — the color pigment is introduced by oxidation.
Special ergonomics for precision shaving
Henson razors are made in the same factory and from the same material as the rover bodies and satellite parts — giving you unrivaled precision and vibration-free parts that reduce the possibility of skin irritation and cuts to zero. The blade is mounted very rigidly and is virtually unbendable during shaving.
The head has almost flat surfaces, which is convenient for beginners. During shaving, the angle of the blade is about 30°: from a physiological point of view, this is the most correct positioning of the blade when shaving. The handle is positioned at the same angle. This allows you to shave comfortably without fatigue in the wrist.
The razor weighs a low 37g and is lightweight and maneuverable. Even when shaving hard-to-reach places and large areas, such as your legs, you won’t tire your wrist.
Even the Henson Al 13 razors have larger foam vents, so stubble, hair and lather can easily pass through them during the shaving process without the need to rinse the razor. This reduces the number of passes of the blade over the same area, which eliminates one of the causes of irritation — overexposure to the blade as a result of repeated blade movement over the skin.
Blades
The manufacturer recommends the use of RK blades, created in collaboration with Henson specifically for their razors. These blades perform softer in the razor than the Astra blades that Henson has previously recommended since the beginning of production. We recommend Astra for stiff bristles and Henson-RK for soft to medium bristles. The new RK blades are virtually cut and irritation free, and tingling will be minimal when applying Alunite or alcoholic aftershave.
A pack of 5 blades lasts for 2—4 weeks depending on shaving frequency and stubble stiffness.
If your skin is sensitive and your hair is fine and sparse, razors with low aggressiveness — Henson Al 13 Mild — will do the trick.
