The closed comb design makes the Masamune the gentlest option in the line. The blade clearance is 0.63 mm, and the negative offset is −0.13 mm: the cutting edge is positioned slightly deeper relative to the guard’s plane. This geometry reduces direct contact between the blade and the skin and is well-suited for regular shaving, when comfort and control are more important than expressiveness.
One of the main differences of the titanium Masamune is its weight of just 51 g. The razor is noticeably lighter than the steel version, so it responds more quickly to hand movements and allows for more precise control over direction, angle, and pressure. This is especially noticeable when shaving difficult areas of the face: the razor is highly maneuverable and does not require you to compensate for its weight with extra effort.
The head’s design also contributes to a stable shave. The blade is securely held in place over a large area between the cover and the base plate, which reduces vibration during shaving. The proprietary component connection system ensures precise alignment between the head and the handle and helps maintain proper blade centering after assembly.
The razor is entirely machined on CNC machines with a stated machining accuracy of up to 0.02 mm. The material used is Grade 5 titanium-a lightweight, strong, and oxidation-resistant alloy. The handle, which is 89 mm long and approximately 11 mm in diameter, remains compact and easy to handle, while its textured surface ensures a secure grip even with wet hands.
The Masamune Titanium does not require pressure against the skin: simply guide the razor gently, allowing the blade to glide at the correct angle. After shaving, it is recommended to disassemble the razor, rinse the parts thoroughly, and let them dry.
