Olive is a very decorative wood with a marble-like grain, but because of the large number of knots and intertwined fibers, few large solid pieces are obtained from a whole tree, so it is a fairly expensive material. Because olive is very strong, hard-wearing and moisture resistant, it is used in kitchens, bathrooms and for premium parquet flooring.
Hardwood is used to make the bowl. Due to the age and thickness of the material, it may have natural cracks. In this case, the empty spaces are filled. This is a feature of the product and not a defect.
